Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Responsible for training and direction of the activities of production personnel in the areas of safety.
    • Responsible for all employees properly trained in safe operation of production equipment, and that all safety rules are enforced.
    • Responsible for all production personnel correcting and/or reporting unsafe conditions.
    • Monitor employee behavior in regard to safe work performance.
    • Responsible for following Lock out / Tag out procedures.
    • Responsible for all employees having and properly using appropriate safety equipment.
  2. Responsible for producing the best quality product at all times.
    • Responsible for production personnel properly trained to identify product for rejection, rework, etc, and all customers receive product that meet or exceed customer standards and expectations.
    • Responsible for quality measurements properly recorded at the scheduled intervals.
    • Responsible for finished good lot numbers properly obtained and recorded.
    • Responsible for non-conforming products placed on hold with proper hold documentation completed.
  3. Coordinate with Quality Control Manager to ensure that all production personnel can identify product for rejection, rework, etc. and to ensure that all customers receive product which meets the customers’ standards
  4. Responsible for the activities of production personnel in the areas of equipment operation, quality control requirements, standards and procedures, and material handling.
    • Maintain training documentation.
  5. Schedule production to meet customer sales demand and safety stock requirements.
  6. Monitor machine efficiency records, analyze and assist in determining problems when efficiency rate is below standard.
    • Track changeovers, downtime, scrap records, pound loss, etc… and plan adequate corrective measures for improvements.
    • Proactive in addressing inefficiencies.
    • Schedule product change-over to minimize down-time and loss of productivity.
  7. Monitor all labor expenses, general labor, OT and temporary labor, weekly, pursuing the Corporate Goal of being the Low Cost Producer.
  8. Maintain employee relations; maintenance of employee calendars, documentation of corrective action, counseling, vacation scheduling and appropriate staffing to meet production needs within budget limits. Measure employee turnover and implement action plans to eliminate employee terminations.
  9. Prepare and maintain necessary production records, machine efficiency records, scrap reports, and other reports as required.
  10. Responsible for housekeeping tasks performed adhering to the criteria set forth by RAPAC standards.
    • Proactive in addressing housekeeping deficiencies and continuous improvement.
  11. Work in conjunction with maintenance personnel on projects or preventative maintenance.
    • Schedule necessary production and personnel to perform tasks outlined in projects or preventative maintenance.
    • 12.   May perform the duties of a supervisor as needed or required

Job Requirements

Experience, Educational and Technical Qualifications

We prefer our Production Manager have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Management or Supervision in a manufacturing environment. He/she must have the ability to provide technical guidance through past experiences and industry knowledge. He/she should possess strong people skills, leadership qualities, managerial abilities, a sense of urgency, accountability, business ethics, professionalism, self-motivation and the desire and focus to improve the business. Our candidate must be able to read, write and understand English.


A 4-year engineering, technical, or business degree is preferred.


The Production Manager must be well trained in computer software such as Word, Excel, and LN
